Please note: Kenya is set to hold general elections on August 9, 2022. The President, members of the National Assembly and Senate, county governors of Kenya, and members of Kenya's 47 county assemblies will be elected by the people. Consequently, the DAAD office in Nairobi is temporarily closed to visitors from August 8 to August 12, 2022.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is highly likely to be facing extensive budget cuts. Its scholarships and mobility funding in projects at German higher education institutions must therefore be significantly reduced at short notice: around 6,000 scholarships alone could be canceled.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has published a position paper on the further development of German foreign science policy in response to the massive upheavals in world politics. In it, the DAAD argues for the design and expansion of a "science diplomacy" based on realpolitik, which consciously confronts global crises, dislocations and system rivalries.

Fundamental Academic Values AwardDie Award for Early Career Scientists in the European Higher Education Area
By awarding three prizes for research publications, the DAAD aims to contribute to the advocacy of fundamental academic values, to promote important research in this area, and to further stimulate the discussion about these values. The call for submissions addresses early career scientists of all academic fields, who have made an outstanding scientific contribution toward the preservation and advocacy of fundamental academic values in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The deadline for application is 31 August 2022.

Transnational EducationStudy Programs of German Universities Abroad
This Transnational Education – Study Programs of German Universities Abroad programme pursues the goal of supporting German universities in establishing educational programs abroad and implementing study programs that have been tested in Germany in an adequate manner at foreign locations on a partnership basis.
The programme provides University teachers and employees funds for the establishment of German study programs abroad. State and state-recognized German universities are eligible to apply.
The deadline for application is 31 August 2022.

Transnational EducationStrengthening and Excellence through Profiling
This is a supplementary program to the program "Transnational Education - Study Opportunities at German Universities Abroad (TNB Study Opportunities)".
The TNB-STEP program aims to further develop the quality of German study programs that have already been successfully established abroad and to make them more attractive and visible through institutional expansion.
The deadline for application is 31 August 2022.

African-German Scientific Exchange:Sustainable Intensification of Agriculture
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), German Research Foundation invites interested scientists from all Sub-Saharan African countries and researchers at all universities and research institutes in Germany, explicitly including universities of applied sciences, to take part in a scientific exchange in the field of agricultural sciences with special emphasis on the sustainable intensification of agriculture.
This initiative covers all (interdisciplinary) research questions that are primarily concerned with agriculture. |
